PEAK DEMAND

Do you consume more than 100,000 kWh's annually?

Are you paying a 'Peak Demand Surcharge'?

Peak Electricity Demand occurs when there is a high volume point of usage at one time. This could be a single power spike of 1 second in any 30 minute period. Because of this peak, you are charged at the Demand Rate appropriate to the Tariff you are on (eg. Tariff 8300 in Qld).

The result is, your power costs could be as much as

3 or 4 times the non-peak charges.

FACTORS AFFECTING

PEAK DEMAND SURCHARGE

  • When units are switched on simultaneously

  • Poor power factor

  • Outdated air conditioning

  • Old technology lighting

  • Refrigeration

We consider all of these factors and more when we aim to minimise your energy usage.
